1. Posting comments
Should you wish to add a comment to a post or page you are not required to register but you do have to provide your name and email address. You may also choose to follow a blog post or the comments about it. This information serves primarily to discourage spammers (along with the manual moderation of comments) and can be used to inform a person, that has so chosen, about additions to a blog or the comments on it. In individual cases it may occasionally be used to pursue a conversation about a comment with the user in private by email. In no case is it used for promotional purposes. Nor is it shared with third parties.
2. The Newsletter
Should you wish to subscribe to the Secret Paths Newsletter, which is sent sporadically by email, you are required to provide your first name, last name and email address. This information is used solely to address Newsletters to subscribers. A link is provided in the Newsletter to enable subscribers to change their information. A second link enables them to unsubscribe, should they wish. In no case is this information provided to third parties. Note that the software employed to send the Newsletter provides feedback directly to Secret Paths about whether a message has been received or if a link has been clicked on. This additional information is used to ascertain the impact of the Newsletter and the interest its subjects raise so as to improve the pertinence of its content.
3. The Bookstore
Should you wish to buy a book from Secret Paths – this service is only available to people living in Switzerland – you are required to provide your full name and postal address. Optionally you can provide your phone number and chose to have a signed copy. This information is used solely to carry out your order and to provide Secret Paths with anonymous statistics of sales.
