Empty promises

I’m a pretty unruly student when it comes to doing structured exercises. True to form, at last weekend’s Geneva Writers Group workshop given by Susan Tiberghien, I wandered off the trodden path and wrote a very short story called Empty Promises. Here’s the beginning:

He intensely disliked the way people used words to mislead. Take the enormous picture on the side of that bus depicting a kid leaning against a rain-spattered bus window, nose to nose with his mirror image…. (read on)
